What Did I Experiment With?
This week I decided to focus my attention on experimentation. I found all of the experimentation I did extremely useful as it helped me to develop more structure to my ideas. It also made me feel comfortable in what I was going to do and I therefore ended up drawing more frames that I think I may end up using in my final product however I may perfect and edit them along the way the more I learn and develop.
The experimentation I did this week mostly consisted of experimenting with art - things such as backgrounds, style and colour - however I also did a bit of work on Premiere Pro experimenting with effects on some frames I had drawn. I experimented with an effect often referred to as panning or the 'Ken Burns' effect and it confirmed my ideas about using it, I feel that it is very effective and think that it will come to help me quite a lot. I also experimented with fading effects with both audio and images. I plan in upcoming weeks to experiment with sound once I edit some and eventually all of my frames together in Premiere Pro while experimenting and getting more used to the software alongside this.
Finally, Something else I practiced was some simple animation in my drawing software I am going to use - Procreate, while it did take a lot of trial and error and I had to watch some tutorials to get things right, I found this really useful and think that I am ready to start using the software to create more animatics for my project. I am currently in the process of adding all of this on to my experimentation page, presenting it in a way that will hopefully be clear and understandable.
Evaluation.
Overall I think that this week has gone well and I feel that I have now gotten into the flow of things and know more what I am doing and what I have to do. I really like the way the experiments turned out and I think that they helped me a great deal when it came to figuring out what works and what doesn't.
Here are some examples of what I did below, however you can find most of it in my Experimentation page.
