PROPOSAL
SECTION 1: RATIONALE

To reflect on my first year on this course, I feel that the experience has given me a great opportunity to develop my existing skills eg. illustration, photography and design and also learn completely new skills eg. editing/recording videos and audio. I have also learned how to use a great deal of the different professional Adobe software which has been extremely useful to me when doing my work.
Overall I have found many new things that I enjoy and really appreciate this experience and new way of learning that has been shown to me. I am looking forward to using these skills within this project and then progressing and developing my knowledge even further in my second year.
SECTION 2: PROJECT CONCEPT
200-250 words
For this project, the overall idea is to create a hand drawn 2D animated short to set up a story about a character, Jaxon as he tries to navigate the new world he is thrown into upon passing away and becoming a zombie. I have chosen to do this because in order to create a full animated short film of good quality I would either need more people to help me or more time on the project, either of which I don't have.
I plan to research deeply into many things such as different artists and creators that inspire me along the way; looking into things such as art style, colour, expressions and more while also studying photo references found online and also taken by myself and creating observational sketches.
I plan for the end product to contain sound in the form of voiceovers, Foley sounds and music and stretch from 1-5 minutes - the duration really depends on how much good quality art I can make in the time frame given. I hope to create this video well enough to give enough context to viewers on what the story will be about while also keeping some things a mystery as this will draw in an audience, I also want there to be a somewhat consistent aesthetic to the video and a consistent art style as this means it will be recognisable and memorable.
SECTION 3: EVALUATION

I will evaluate my work by summarising and talking through each section of my creation process - pre production, mid production and post production. I will also evaluate and discuss my choices and any changes I make and justify them throughout my website when I finish tasks such as editing, drawing or recording. I plan on releasing my final product on YouTube and tracking likes comments etc. while also creating surveys to gain feedback. I will also update a weekly production journal evaluating my week.
