Week 1 - Getting Started.

13th - 19th March.

Introduction.

Welcome to my first Blog! On these pages I will be evaluating each week and how I feel that it went, I think that this is a great way for me to summarise and evaluate all of my work, it will also help me stay on track time wise as it is a way for me to make sense of and deconstruct my feelings towards the week.

This week was the very first week of my Final Major Project for this Creative Media course that I have been doing for almost a year now, I have completed many projects during my time there but none quite like this one. This time I get to almost completely take the reigns and decide for myself what I will be working on. While I am at this point really nervous as it will be probably the biggest project I've ever worked on in my life, I am looking forward to taking on the challenge.

Week 1 Evaluation.

At the beginning of the week, My goal was to start my research and begin to construct my website while thinking of and getting down my ideas. I hoped to make things such mood boards, storyboards, rough sketches, take photos etc. and look at artists and creators that inspire me. Fortunately, I ended up getting everything on my schedule and to do lists done, and more! This gave me a great sense of achievement and I now feel ready to move on and continue adding to my research, experiments, idea development, pitch etc.

Overall I really enjoyed this week and have loved how creative and inspired I have felt. Again as I mentioned earlier in the blog, I have been feeling quite nervous and stressed as it is something completely new and maybe one of the biggest projects I have ever done but I think that my research, experimentation and development have been extremely successful this week, I did things such as researching specific creators and creative projects and explained why they inspire me and what ideas and lessons I may take from them, I have created some background concept art and refined my ideas on locations and how my character has ended up in his situation, I have also worked on character designs and established an art style to work with which then allowed me to complete some character expression sheets with my ideas. In addition to this, I have also created and designed this website which I will be putting all of my work into, I think that this also went really well and feel that the site works well and is easy to understand and navigate, I also think that the site's theme really fits with the overall vibe and feel of my project which is always good too. While I do yet have much more experimenting and developing to do, all of this groundwork will allow me to progress further into this creative project and start hopefully working on the final thing as soon as possible! I am actually really proud of the work I have done this week and hope to stay feeling that way all the way through until the end!
