Why is it important to have a portfolio?

Having a portfolio is extremely important for many people doing different types of jobs, especially creative ones. A portfolio showcases the best of your abilities and skills and can really show a client what a person is capable of so they can ensure that this is the style of work that they wish to invest in.

Often a portfolio is required to get into places such as universities, apprenticeships or jobs depending on if the line of work or education you wish to go down is related to the work in your portfolio.

Having one place with all of your work featured is not only convenient for yourself but also for others looking to hire or accept you into whatever you are wanting to pursue in the future with your work. It helps you to enhance who you are as a candidate and to stand out from other applicants therefore nudging you ahead of the line to achieve your goals.
