(Project 4.1)
Research is something people do almost every day without realising, what people also often don't realise is that research comes in many different forms.

Primary Research.
Primary research is to gather data and information that has not been collected before. Examples could include: Drawings, Surveys, Interviews, Photographs, Observations or any type of research you have completed yourself.
Secondary Research.
Secondary research involves the summary/collation of already existing research. Examples of where you would find this include: Books, Videos, Biographies/Autobiographies,
Examples of Primary & Secondary Research I have used in my project include..

Research Comparison.
Animal, Mineral, Vegetable.
In this project, I found that using secondary research was equally useful as using primary research. A lot of the things I was inspired by were things I couldn't find in the world around me. I researched using the internet things such as crystals, fish and plants and was able to find inspiration from this. However, my primary research was useful too as I found things around my room such as my plants and my crystals a great inspiration too, I placed them in front of me and did observational drawings which really helped me be more creative when it came to my final designs because I was able to see and understand the form better having them in my hands and looking at them up close.
Wix Website.
When it came to designing my website I found that researching online and looking for examples was useful because it was my only source of inspiration. While actually experimenting with Wix was also useful, I got the hang of it pretty fast, this time secondary research definitely came in handy much more than primary research.
Logo and Brand Design.
For this project, as can probably be identified when you see it on my projects page, primary research definitely takes the win. Creating and designing things for me involves a lot of practical experimentation with ideas, colour and more. Gathering secondary data was still very crucial though as it sparked most of my ideas, however when it came evolving them primary data was most important.
